Running around a dry waterfall in Ko Samuii

This water-fall was fun to get to, riding a rickety scooter up a hill, stopping for some tender coconuts and then walking down to the ravines.
There was no water as we went before the monsoons but it was really fun to run up and down the rocks with a puppy that was wandering about.

An old hand block-print top with denim cut-offs, slip-ons and a locally made bag completed the look for the day. Nothing special, just travel comfort appropriate.

Travel diaries: Post cards from Kutch

The vast open desert barren save for thorny bushes, the beautiful textiles and embroidery, the salt marshes located by the Arabian sea stretching along the Tropic of Cancer and the beautiful oasis with migratory birds from far away, Kutch is beautiful! Here are a few pictures that barely do the place justice.

Spring, I've missed you

Spring is here and I can't wait for my mini-garden to start blooming again, wearing lighter layers and in eight weeks going home for a visit. I have waited over a year for this visit, planning things down to the last tiniest details, dreaming about the moment I will re-unite with my family, celebrate festivals like they're meant to be celebrated, make rangolis all over the house with my sister and generally just forget the nastiness in the world.

In the meantime I am going to wear as many layers of jewellery, more block print, excessive amounts of batik, embroidered bits and bobs while frolicking on isolated coasts sunning by rock pools. What are your spring plans?

Some more travel photos

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness" ~Mark Twain, I couldn't agree more. These are some more photos taken on our various travels in India last year, I cannot wait to go back and explore more of the beautiful country.

India Photo Diary Part Deux

Here are a few more pictures from my trip last year, the street dogs in India were the highlight of my stay, to have those many doggies to pet is so much fun. Fresh fruits at reasonable prices are another thing I really miss not to mention the ease of access to beautiful henna designs whenever one feels like and pretty temple art. Hope you like the photos. Happy Monday world!

India: Mini Photo Diary

I've been under the weather lately and the cold doesn't help so been trawling website for holiday photos and was getting to a stage that I wanted to just fly out to somewhere warm. And then I remembered I never posted any photos from my trip to India last year, so here are a few. The first three photos were taking around Manali in the Himalayas, the road-side flower seller is in Chennai, in the South and the last few photos are of the Qutab Minar in Delhi. Hope you like. Photos make me want to pack my bags and take off...

Warning: Picture heavy post about to commence.
