Winter beach walks

Sunny winter Sundays spent by the lake or ocean are the best ways to de-stress and re-examines one's priorities. And having an energetic furball just completes the picture of perfection. I have been open about my love for traditional Indian fabrics and cuts and this top or 'Kediyu' as it is called traditionally in Gujarat is one of my prized items of clothing. Last year I went to my tailor with some left over scrap of bright green 'Bandhani' fabric that was too little to be used for much and demanded a Kediyu and he made me this. I love it so much I have qualms about washing it in the machine. I cannot wait to go back this year and get more made.

This top is very commonly seen worn by men in Gujarat and elaborate versions are worn for the Navaratri festival during the fall harvest. I can't really see myself waiting for holidays to wear what I like and therefore I wear these kind of tops all year round. I mean once you've found something you love, have continued being obsessed by it for decades, there isn't much point in wearing it every once in a while.

Sunset meanderings

Change of seasons mean allergies plus flu, I may be really excited for spring but cant for the life of me take the blocked nose and perennial exhaustion anymore.

On to better topics, sick days call for warm and comfy clothing and it can't get comfier than soft merino sweaters and oversize cardigans, the turquoise fabric bag is just to keep things cheerful. Nothing is better to cheer oneself up than to sit by crashing waves and drink beer

Hope everyone's had a great weekend.

Dressing for comfort is the best

Sweater: All-saints, Jacket: Vintage, back-pack: Thrifted, Coin neck-lace: India

I feel like I am back to being seventeen years old here wearing all my favourite things, a coin neck-lace, warm sweater with an oversize camouflage jacket, fabric back-pack, comfy kicks and a beanie. Wore this to go get dinner and beer at the pub after a long day at work. Happy almost Friday world!

The Nomad

Super old Camo skinnies: Don't remember, Shell anklet+Embroidered Shawl: India, Suede sandals: Wittner, Crochet top: Vintage

It hasn't stopped raining for the last two days, now the winds have taken a decidedly cyclonic turn, parts of Queensland and northern NSW are flooded and I am sitting at home willing my mouth to heal from the wisdom tooth extraction. All in all a super lazy, stay at home weekend consisting of eating mushed up food, ice-cream and watching movies.

Nothing screams comfort to me like super old jeans, crochet, warm shawl, carpet bag and comfy sandals, therefore this outfit. Hope every-one else has had a dentist free time and are staying dry. Come back Sun and I promise never to complain about the heat.
