I love it when I don't have to bother about dressing up for anything or looking proper, just wear and be the way I want to be. An indigo block print maxi kurta from Anokhi, heaps of silver jewellery, carpet boots, fabric bag from South America, an Enfield bullet and the cutest puppy friend.

Ride the lightning

I embroidered these shorts a year ago because I was astounded by the amount of denim cut-offs I had and I didn't think I would wear them as much as a plain pair. But I forgot that wearing neutrals and all that nonsense about minimalism is complete nonsense to me..

So here we have a vintage Metallica tee fluttering over a pair of hand embroidered denim cut-offs and boots I can't seem to take off. Hope March has been treating you well, happy almost Friday world.

Holiday happiness

Sometimes its too hot to wear anything other than an embroidered, wispy dress with fun jewelery. Holiday saving and planning has kept me on my toes the last few weeks and I want nothing more than to put my feet up and relax figuratively while I am actually tearing at my pressies.

I think I am all packed for the bitterly cold northern winter, excited to be on the other side of the world and explore new cities. Hope the pre-holiday period is treating you well. Happy almost Holidays all!

Mini and Sweater weather's back

Its that time of the year again, when going tightless is fun but sweaters can still be worn, one looks forward to the summer but can still wear layers. Sandals and wool look great together if you ask me...

It's the time when hours can be spend frolicking outdoors by the water and everything looks magical in the sunshine. Sunny weekends are the best!

Cold weather makes me want to dress in pyjamas, its even more fun when the pyjamas are block printed turquoise beauties.

Sunset shenanigans

Spent Sunday afternoon at the Rozelle markets, met a bunch of lovely puppies and then walked to the Balmain cove to watch a lovely sunset while sipping ice-tea. A lazy Sunday afternoon is just what I needed before the hecticness Monday is sure to bring.

This outfit makes little sense but this is what I do all winter, just pile on layer after layer over a print I like in the hopes of staying warm. This little fabric back-pack is straight out of my dreams and I might never take it off, all I need now is a heap of Cowrie shells that I will hang off it. Seasons greetings in block print

Lately the sometimes sunny but suddenly not so warm temperatures in Sydney have made it easy to wear my maxi dresses and boots, therefore instead of complaining about the undecidedness of the weather I choose to be happy that I can indulge in a little light layering. As I have already waxed eloquent about my love for block print fabrics, I will not bore you with more of the same but just leave you with the pictures of this amazing dress that I wore traveling across the Himalayas and this perfectly worn-in vintage leather back-pack.

All my presents are packed and ready to be opened in a few hours, the wine's chilling in the fridge, appetizer kebabs are marinating, meat for the roast is thawing, I can hear the boy packing my presents upstairs and here I am chilling in another cotton block printed dress waiting for the festivities to well and truly begin. Since my last post we've moved into a new house and I am currently obsessed with making a tropical forest-esque garden on my balcony. The rest of the house is a maze of cartons filled with my various wordly posessions, needless to say I hate unpacking and organising. I totally welcome decor DIY ideas and am constantly checking home decor blogs, might even do a "hey look at my pretty house" post when I successfully do up the place.

This whole outfit post has come about because of my said obsession with terrace foliage, my lovely corduroy men's shirt/ jacket, denim flower print shorts and the beautiful suede perfection on my shoulder. Its not easy to blog about what I am wearing while I have to comb through half a dozen suitcases but its no excuse to vanish from the blogosphere altogether therefore here I am as usual talking about my latest loves from my own closet. In a way its fun though, to find things I already have and fall back in love with them since I refuse to be a part of the use and throw fast fashion bandwagon. I shall stop now because more home decor inspiration beckons. Have a fun El Dia de los Muertos!

This whole outfit post idea came about because of the AWESOME leather oversize shirt/ jacket. Buttery soft leather, thrifted, made in New Zealand and has that perfect shapeless/ oversized silhouette that I love love love, I mean what more can one say? I know that the pictures are not super good but we are new at using a fancy camera and I have zero knowledge of photoshop and like I've said before for me this isn't just about taking the perfect photos. Ofcourse I want to learn and get better at taking and editing pictures but I am not going to beat myself up for not having the most amazing photo spread.

Today the most amazing woman in my life celebrates her birthday, Happy Birthday Mummy :D Hope every one is having a wonderful week and are looking forward to kicking back over the weekend. Happy Thursday all!

Trifted leather skirt and crochet top, Suede booties: Witchery, Hat: Don't remember

Look at this buttery soft leather beauty, she is the one I spoke about in my last blog post, a little too long so I took a pair of scissors to her but she knows I love love love her. This skirt especially since its worn with a crochet top reminds me of Penny Lane and her little light brown suede (i think) mini-skirt she wears with a peasant top.

I may be a little too obsessed with all things leather, although its a recent phenom, I was vegetarian for years and avoided wearing leather at all costs and even now try to limit my leather consumption to gifted and thrifted items. One day I hope to rid myself of this habit but for now I am going to frolic in this beauty. Happy Tuesday all!
